hi all,
looking for advice or wondering if someone has been in the same situation.
i am a naturalized canadian citizen and have moved out of canada in 2015 as i was laid off and found an opportunity overseas. i married a non-canadian in 2016. last year i applied for my wife to visit canada with me as a tourist and her visa was rejected. i am assuming this is similar to many of the cases in this forum reason being they are worried she wont be leaving canada after we land there. so i never really bothered applying and we ended up going to thailand instead on holidays.
i also never thought of sponsoring my wife as i have no intention of returning to canada at the moment as i work in the oil and gas industry and as you know alberta has been hit hard and has not yet recovered. therefore i wont satisfy the requirement and hence didnt want to apply until things get better in alberta.
Now my wife is pregnant and will delivering in december. i want her to deliver in canada. i was wondering if i apply for a visit visa for my wife with the intention of delivering a baby will it be approved? i really want my baby to be born in canada and i am paying for all the delivery expenses. is there some sort of right for a canadian citizen to have his kid born in canada?
the reason i want to deliver in canada is basically to avoid any issues in the future for my baby in regards "to second generation kids born outside canada rule"
Thanks
