I'm an international student studying for a 1 year PDD and planning to apply visa for my spouse and kids and wondering whether to proceed with visit visa or open work permit?

I have completed the first sem with 3.1 GPA and and will be completing my studies in Sep 2019. Have my visa till Dec 2019.

Some say it's really difficult to get the open work straight away and suggest to get a visit visa and convert it to a open work after landing Canada.

Seek your valuable opinion pls. And if I'm applying visit visa for them should I mention that they are coming for a short holiday or tospend the remaining time with me in Canada

Wife has stayed with me in UK for 3 years as my dependant and returned back to home country in 2014. Kids r 5&3 yrs old with no travel history

It would depend on the ties that your wife can demonstrate to her home country. For example, is she employed?

There are no assurances either way that SOWP/TRV will be granted for the spouse of an international student.

The visa officer knows that she would change her status even if she states she is visiting for a short holiday.

Her stay of 3 years in the UK won't help as travel history because it was a long-term stay. And, your kids are too young to be demonstrate any ties
