Hello guys,
I am a full time student in Dubai. I came on a student visa in Dubai and I am pursuing Masters in Applied Finance from the University of Wollongong Dubai. I am presently not working. I am just studying in Dubai. The duration of my course is two year in which I have completed two semesters. The course will end in Jan 2018.

My sister is a Permanent resident in Canada. I want to visit her for a short duration. Will I get a visit visa If she can send me a letter of invitation with all the appropriate documents. I will take a letter from my university with the latest fee receipt which can prove that I will return to Dubai.

Do I need to show funds in my accounts as well because I am not working or my brother in law's account is well enough?

Please reply soon.
Thanks.

Are you a minor? Is your brother in law your legal-guardian?

If not then you need resources of your own. A transfer can be arranged to your account, but you need the money at your full disposal to travel.

I am 28 year old. My sister is working from home but my brother in law is a main earner in the family. Can I show his documents?

No. As stated it is you who needs to show the ability to afford the trip.
