Visit visa from Colombo

Hi. My mother just recently went to the VFS office in Colombo to hand over an application for visit visa. However she was turned away as they said the biometrics system was down and they didn't accept her application. She applied for a visa previously and has given her biometrics and according to the website it is valid for 10 years. Wondering if anyone is faced with this situation, it's really disheartening as the office has informed her they are not sure when the system will be up and running and we hope to bring her down in September. An applicant does not have to give biometrics again if s/he has a valid visa. For applicants who have been previously refused, biometrics are necessary for each application

Ok so I supposed she has to give her biometrics again as her visa was refused., But I logged into her account with her previous UCI and its stated that her biometrics is still valid. I suppose the only way now is to apply online and wait for the biometrics letter.
