Dear Seniors

I have a small query. my uncle (Bangladeshi, age 54, private service) wants to come to Canada to visit us. I am PR and have job in Canada. I think the Temp. Resident Visa/ Visit Visa is his only shot. he wants to come for 1 month, but he wants to keep coming back. do u know if there is any way that he can get the Visit Visa for 10 years? And how much money he needs to show? he has only $12,000 in his bank account.

many thanks in advance.

if your uncle consider applying for a multiple entry visa (usually which every applicant do) he may be granted a visa valid for up to 10 years or until his passport expires, whichever comes first.
so the expiry date of his visit visa (trv) will be based on his passport expiry date (unless cic issue him just a single entry visa). so coming to canada regularly every year for a short period wont be a problem for him and he can re-apply for a new visit visa (trv) on the expiry of the trv.

Technically its not about how much money he needs to show. what he need is to prove financial stability and strong ties to his home country and his application should have a clear impression that he have lot of reasons to return back to his country after his visit. just an opinion the documents to support his application can be:-
1)proof of business or job (Business: it can be his business card, Business registration letter. JOb: letter from employer mentioning grant of leave)
2) His personal or business bank statement ( his bank statement should reflect his claim about his earnings)
3) document of any assets. (assets which generate some income are more effective otherwise not of much weight. yes if he owns a house whr he lives is effective in giving an impression that his monthly living cost is within his range and he is most likely saving money: same savings should hav a reflection in his bank statement).
4) a simple letter of invitation from you (The main applicant is your uncle not you; so don't try to prove your stability that much that it proves more ties to canada rather than the applicants ties to his home country).

if 12000 dollar is the closing balance with good previous transactions (last 6-12 months) than it a worthy statement. if its like recent 12,000 dollars without any noticeable past transaction then it may not work.

Hope it helps and best of luck with your uncle's application.
