visit visa for spouse while PR application is in process

I am a Canadian citizen sponsoring my wife. She is an Indian and staying in India. My son is a Canadian and we are planning to get him to a school in Canada by August next year. I am applying for my wife's PR in October this year. I am worried that she might not get her PR status by August Next year.
My question is, can I apply for her visit visa while her PR application is in the process?

Yes you definitely can apply for her visitors visa, but wait until around 2 months before the expected travel date. My advice would be apply for the PR application asap, so that you'll be able to get her PR within a years time. With the current trend, the process is speeding up so your wife should get her PR by august(your tentative travel time). Good luck
