Hi All,

Me and my wife are PR holders. Few days ago my wife got pregnant. Her due date will be around in the month of July/August. I would like to apply visit visa for my parents. I have 2 questions as below.

1. Can I apply visit visa(6 months stay) for my parents based on my wife pregnancy reason? What are the approval chances?

2. My parents are holding USA visit visa, is this a benefit for applying Canada visit visa for my parents?

Please do provide your suggestions and I really appreciate your help.

Thanks
Jack

1. Sure, you can apply on this basis. The approval chances will depend on their profile and no one here can give you a %. Note that you need to be careful with the wording of your invitation and avoiding saying they are coming to take care of anyone or help - IRCC can sometimes regard this as working illegally. They are simply here to visit. To be approved, they will want to show strong ties to their home country such as employment, property, and assets. Consider asking for a visit of a few weeks vs. six months (unless you plan to apply for a super visa). Six months is a long time and could cause concerns regarding lack of ties.
2. Yes, that should increase the chances of approval.

Have they travelled to the US on that visa? If so and they followed all the rules then that will be benefit. It shows they are travellers and follow visa rules and return to their home country.

And i agree with above, sometimes they can consider visiting a grandchild and think that the grandparent will help take care of the grandchild. That is considered work. A reason to visit their child should be good enough.
