I am a Canadian PR. I need to sponsor my mother in law to come to Canada to support my wife's delivery. I will be providing the funds for the stay. I have two doubts :

1. How should I prepare the letter of invitation? Should I mention my wife(in visit visa) and I together invite my mother in law or just me. We have marriage certificate to show proof of relationship.
2. Should we mention that my mother in law is coming to help my wife who is in visit visa or just a casual visit?

Hi,

1. You can prepare a joint invitation letter from yourself and your wife. Do mention the details of each of the inviters. You must include a copy of your marriage certificate.

2. Do not mention that your mom-in-law is coming to take care of your wife/baby as this may be construed as working illegally on a TRV. Keep her visit to 2-3 weeks max. Prepare a day-by-day itinerary as a typical tourist and to spend some time with you and your wife.

Your mom-in-law must prove her strong ties and her finances even though you will support her visit

Cheers
