Visit visa extension

Hi.. asking for a frnd whos spouse came on visit visa 4 n half months ago when he entered the visa officer at the airport wrote a day by hand of 6 months exactly from the time he entered along with stamp .. Can he apply for visitor extension 30 days before his 6 month stay or has to leave by that date?

You can apply to extend your status and remain in Canada until the application is processed.

ok bcz the visa officer wrote a date of 6 months n it mentions on cic website as well he sd but also an immigration consultant told him he needs to exit before that dafe since there is a date written by the cbsa officer and then re enter since he has multiple entry visit visa

That's the date you have to leave by if you don't apply to extend your stay.
