Hi,
I landed Canada with my family in Nov 2003 and returned after 2 weeks. We live in the UAE and have not visited Canada since our first landing. Our PR cards’ validity expired in Nov 2008. Obviously we have not met the residency requirement (i.e. we have not stayed in Canada for 730 days during the last 5 years) and hence can’t apply for PR card renewal nor PRTD (Permanent Resident Travel Document)
We wish to visit Canada during the December holidays.
In order to apply for a visit visa, I understand that we should voluntarily relinquish our PR cards. If we relinquish our PR cards, will it adversely affect the chances of any possible PR card reapplication in the future?
Please advice. Thanks,
