hi everyone pls help me my visa will expire on nov 27 2010 How can I renew this in Canada im here in Alberta and my working permit will expire on Jan 21, 2011. My Visa is multiple when and where in canada do I need to renew my visa ? pls help me. I have my AINP nomination on proces but i have 3 mothns left in my contract.

you submit work permit and TRV renewals to CPC Vegreville, AB but I believe you have to attach your nomination certificate to the application although you may want to check CIC's website first because I might not be 100% accurate.

my husband's work permit is about to expire on Nov.30, he submitted his application for work permit extension on October 15. since his nomination is already apporved and our application for PR is already in process, he only attached a copy of the nomination certificate.

in some other situations, you will be required to submit a new LMO together with the WP and TRV application.

IM WAITING FOR MY NEW LMO AND FOR MY AINP STILL ON PROCESS....DO I NEED TO RENEW MY VISA THEN? MY WORK PERMIT WILL EXPIRE ON JAN 21 2011 WAHT SHALL I DO. I HAVE THE CANDIDATE FILE NO YET BUT JUST A CONFIRMATION THAT THEY RECIV MY APPLICATION LAST JUNE 25, 2010.

rjessome, job_seeker and jess_ON are well informed about work permits and TRV, maybe you can send them a PM to ask about your situation.

i believe if you don't plan on leaving the country, you can apply for work permit renewal and TRV at the same time as soon as your approved LMO arrives or at least 30 days before the expiration for your work permit.

you can also call the CIC call center and ask for advice on what to do.

My question to you is: Are you willing to go out of Canada some time between now and Jan/2011? if so then you may want to renew your visa but if not, my advise to you is to wait so you submit your application to Seattle where you can renew both your visa and WP at same time otherwise you will have to pay twice for the same paperwork. You cannot renew your visa in Canada it must be outside Canada in any of the Immigration offices abroad so your closest one is Seattle.
In my case my visa expired in Feb 2009 and I have not renewed it since then I just sent application to CPC Vegreville to renew my WP. I don't think it is worth to get my visa renewed since I am about to the my PR. So you have to make a list pros/cons and decide....If you need to leave Canada and come back then renew it if you don't just wait until you get both WP and Visa done at the same time....my 2 cents of advise...

Unless you are looking to travel out of Canada before your work permit expires (in Jan as you have stated), I would not bother trying to renew the TRV. Wait till you get your LMO or provincial nomination, then apply for a new work permit. With a new work permit (and extended date, probably another 2yrs), you should be able to mail your TRV application to Buffalo or one of the Canadian consulates in the US.


Please note that you do not mail TRV applications to CPC Vegreville as rubyalabar indicated in his post.
