i wish to apply for a study permit in Canada, but in the past i was refused for a Visa in the US. would it make any difference?
if i comply with Canada request, does it matter that the US turned me down?

tell truth on application form and you will be fine!! it would not matter if reasons of refusal were common.

i got canadian study permit with canadian visitor visa refusal from last year.

It is worth a try but I would suggest you not to lie on your application.
