I have submitted my application at the New Delhi Canadian High Commission through VFS-Delhi. I have paid my first term fees. I have submitted financial docs as FDs. This is under the non-SPP program.
I already have a Masters from a very Good School in the US and have worked there for around two years. I am going to BC for a one year management certificate. I have applied on the 13th of August. I haven't done a pre-medical because my college is not participating in the program.
After having read a lot of discussion on this board, I am no longer so confident that I will get a response(rejection/acceptance/interview) in time. Please let me know whether my concern is justified.
My classes start on October 10th, a little later than most academic programs this term. However, there is a clause in my provisional acceptance letter that says I need to submit proof of Student Authorization by September 10th. Considering the inordinate delays and the fact that I haven't done my medicals yet, I don't think I will get a response before the 10th. I have spoken with my school and they will shortly address my concern about what is to done *if* I don't get a visa by then.
My basic question is, has anyone with my background (an advanced degree from a US degree and foreign work experience) applied for a study permit? And what did your timeline look like. And is getting a visa by September 10th realistic. I would assume that this background exhibits strong ties to one's country and strong financial disposition. So that there would be only need to verify these facts, which I gather are the primary reasons for visa rejection.
Any anecdotes, points of experience would be very welcome. Has anyone missed any such deadline? And what were the repercussions?
Thanks!
