No doubt, it's a strong case. However, not alone your academic is reviewed for visa, it includes many factors. I am assuming from your thread that you have relatives in Canada, are they your immediate blood relatives, what's their status here,( of course you should have applied under SPP and you would have, just wanted to confirm, did you? could you share all the reason they have mentioned on your rejection letter exactly the same?

Course selection seems to be okay.

Cheers!

Yes I did apply under SPP. :(

You didn't answer other questions.

and yes as Mead said ideally the program should be a post grad diploma/certificate. This program you selected at Seneca is undergrad diploma, program code CNS. Although if you are damn sure this is the program for you, then you can write about it in your SOP clearly establishing a co-relation between what you have selected and why?

These are the only reasons stated in the letter.
Do you think it would be wise to reapply with the same course and a better SOP or to play it safe and apply for a post grad diploma or masters?
I know I can only apply under general category. But can I still apply under university category (which is almost equil. to spp) ?

I asked about your family ties in Canada. And as said, if you really think this is the program for you, then write a strong SOP and it should be all good to go.

Now it's a myth that SPP has higher success rate. Success depends on individual cases, SPP only filters the cases. One with good academics applies under SPP category hence chances automatically becomes higher and nothing else. But does it guarantee the visa, no it doesn't. look at your own case, such a strong academic background, yet no success. Hence, Visa depends on multiple factors. Even in General category, many people secure visas.

Anyway, yeah you can now apply under Uni/General Category. But for universities, I think you are late even for Jan2014 intake. You can apply for May or september 2014 intake.

If you are keen to pursue Masters, indeed it's a good option. But be sure of what you really wish to pursue and be damn clear in your SOP to establish the reasons for you to complete your program and return to your home country.

I dont think it is a wise choice applying again for the same course but choice is urs, u can write a good SOP and hope for the best. U cannot apply under university category with the same course u will need admission to a university.I suggest doing masters or post grad and with ur profile u have a good chance of getting a visa.

How can they reject ppl like you....whats wrong in having relatives in Canada ? Do VO's think that ppl who don't have any relatives will back to their home country after studies ? No one is willing to come back to India after investing huge amount of money...most VO's also know it....then why do they reject good academic students just because of this stupid reason.
