Hi

Someone please help.

I applied for visa as I was admitted into UBC for masters along with full scholarship. I submitted all the document accordingly along with the application. But my visa has been rejected. And all because of wrong reason saying I havnt submitted acceptance letter from university which clarifies that I have been accepted into any Canadian university.

Now no disrespect to any authority but I am pretty sure that this here is more of a human error from whoever was evaluating the documents. I dont have any time to reapply as the session start from May 1st.

If someone can help me and tell what should I do then it will of great help and charity.

Thanks

This is very disappinting from CHC 's end
You must apply for a detailed explanation of why ur visa is rejected
Deffer your admission for next session
Re-apply for visa

Hi Kunal

Thanks for the reply.

Ya its disappointing and I understand am one of those 1 out 1000 unlucky mistake cases. Defer the admission for one semester is my last resort and will push that button only when nothing works out.
You said something about a detailed exploitation regarding the rejection. Can you please suggest how I should do that and whom should I contact for that. The VFS guys or the CHC.

Thanks Again

Hey... I can understand that.. I also got rejection on a stupid reason. I got accepted at MUN and again I think I am the only one in India going for Educational Leadership. They rejected my application saying that proposed studies are not reasonable in light of previous studies. I have gone through the complete study permit law and paragraphs it no where says that a visa officer can reject an application on this ground. I think by giving such reasons Canadian High Commission is doubting the university decision and moreover by such acts it questions the credibility of canadian universities and the selection committee..

Brimash: I am very sorry. This happens. Many different reasons why. Yes. Order GCMS notes which take a month to arrive and that will give you a better idea of the issue. If you also request the Physical File you will see exactly which documents are in your file.
Second, immediately send reconsideration letter to VO. Include copy of the documents they "mislaid". Good luck

Can you tell us about your previous education and work experience? If the VO doesn't see a natural progression that ties in with your future education, supported by a strong SOP letter, it is common to see a rejection on basis that proposed studies are not reasonable.

Universities do not have to care about such a logic. Vo has to.

If university's selection committee has taken a decision on giving admission to a student after considering all the facts and figures in terms of experience and education don't you think it's obvious that the selection committee mutually agrees on admissibility of a student? In such cases don't you think it's really important for visa officer to look into in? I agree there are lot of things VO has to consider like funds, security checks, language ability, Genuine Student etc but questioning the credibility of PhD people who specialize in that subject by questioning the admissibility doesn't make sense.

Looks like a good idea to get GCMS before applying. I noticed your 52% average in your BA and not meeting the requirements for the Canadian university. It certainly looks like your career has followed a path, but maybe not how you would be successful studying abroad. Did your SOP show how this specific programme in Nfld met your needs where courses in your country could not? Did you say how you would improve your future academic marks? I am not an expert but these are just a few things that hit me as I read your post. Good luck.

Yeah.. the problem in my first application according to me was SOP, the consultant advised me to make a one paragraph statement, which looked awkward to me but I though he has experience in it so just did what he said.
In India there is no university which offers a program in Educational Leadership. There were circumstances how I couldn't pursue my education just after my school (just for info, I was accepted for a Petro Marketing Management bachelors in 2007 at India's only Petroleum University but couldn't join because of financial reasons). These circumstances not just one but a lot of them inclined my interest towards educational management and leadership. I am on a decent package of all the chances of staying in the UK on a work permit but that interest in the field of training and education is bigger than that.

I did attach an SOP this time. I can forward you on an email if you want to check.

No. VO looks at EVERYTHING. Universities just look at your previous degree, if it is genuine. They do not ask you about your funds, job history, travel history, ties in home country.... because they do not care about that. It is not their job.
