Hello,

I had applied for Jan intake on 23rd Nov 2016 with upfront medical. On 30th Nov, I got a call from the hospital where I had done the medicals that a furtherance letter has come to them from cic because of a scar in my lung. So they asked for a sputum culture, which takes around 8 weeks. I submitted my sputum on 1st Dec 2016 and the report was made ready by 1st week of Feb 2017. The hospital called again, for specialist opinion to be submitted with the sputum culture report. I fixed an appointment with the hospital on 7th Feb 2017. The doctor checked and said he would give a clean chit as sputum tests returned negative and there was no health issues as such. I called the hospital back on 9th Feb 2017 to check if they had submitted my report and they said that they had not, due to some technical glitches, and that same day they submitted (I had called again the next day to confirm).

Now, on 11th Feb 2017, I received a refusal letter from CIC, which was dated on 8th Feb 2017. The refusal reason, 'Others' was ticked that said 'Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, missing marksheets, academic record. level of establishment, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.'

The thing that is bothering me is that they did not even wait for the second medical report, which they only had required. Is it a common occurrence?

Also I had given a paper based application and following is my profile:
10 - 87.8%
12 - 70.4%
B.E. computer engineering - 65.5% (no back logs)
IELTS - 8 (no less than 7)
Experience- I have been working as a software engineer. My domain is data integration and ETL. I have been working since Aug 2012.

Course and College applied - Big Data Applied Science, Lambton College

Also, the deference LOA I received from Lambton had not been submitted. When I contacted my consultant regarding the same, they said they would submit it after the medicals. Could this be a reason too?

As financial proofs, I had submitted ITRs of my parents which amounted to be about 15 lakhs. GIC and first semester fees already paid.

I would like to re-apply, please guide me and advice regarding the process. As to what additional documents I should submit. and what else I can do to make my profile stronger? I have applied for CAIPS, but I am afraid by the time I receive the notes, my time would run out for May intake also.
Could you please advice as to what to gather from all the above and to apply again if I have to apply without the CAIPS notes?

I hope I have covered everything, please feel free to ask if I have missed any detail.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, its strange they didn't wait for medical result. First receive your CAIPS or GCMS notes to know what was in the mind of VO.

Kindly tell me your visa office?

Hey ,

From your detailed explanation , i would suggest you the below

1. Make sure that your Medicals are clear and the results are submitted to CIC

2. I believe you were working from 2012 till now (that is more than 5 yrs of exp), Considering your experience choose only a post graduation level course or a MS level from Universities

3. Refusal Reason : Other Reasons : is a general one : Apply for CAIPS, it will take 30 days and will give you the exact reason for the refusal from CIC. I suggest not to submit the application again unless you have necessary corrections/additions for your profile.

4. Unconditional Offer letter and fee payment receipt is necessary while submitting in Visa office.

5. Make your SOP strong , which is the most critical document for CIC to evaluate a candidate.

6.Refer the below and check the comments from people in this forum

www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/visa-refusal-for- jan-2017-intake-t473617.0.html

The comments in the above discussion will help you prepare well for the next submission

7. The below comment was given in a discussion by a member FAIZI in this forum which is realy to the point !!!

"" A strong study permit application demonstrates that the applicant has strong ties to his or her home country, sufficient financial support, and a clear idea of his or her study objective. Study permit applications are often refused because the applicant fails to satisfy the immigration officer that the chosen study program will further the applicant's career. If an applicant chooses a study program that is unconnected to his or her education and work history, or a study program at a lower level than his or her previous study, this may result in a refusal. ""

8 . Try to get advice from a well established/ realy experienced education consultant and resubmit your application. You still have time !!!!!

So that's it !! :)

******* The above comments are purely personal from my experience and study . Do NOT take it as a professional advice :)

Thank you so much for this detailed response.

Further, I have 4.5 years of experience and I applied for an Ontario Graduate certificate course.

If I wait for CAIPS, it will be around 25 March that I will receive it. There will be barely any time left for application. But if I won't, and if it will result in a rejection again, then it will be two times the black mark in my profile. If I wait for Sept, again, my work experience will exceed 5 years and then again, chances are less. What might be the best way forward? Please advise!

Also, another doubt I had is, my application for Jan got refused, So I am eligible to apply under SPP for May, right?

Apart from this, I had an unconditional letter,GIC and semester fees receipts, SOP (I guess not strong enough), financial docs and all that was required for SPP application.
