I applied for 2 weeks visit visa to see my sick brother who has recently been diagnosed with progressive lung fibrosis disease. After 3 weeks got refusal for following reasons:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
I had shown cad 98000/ in readily available funds(cad 23000 in bank, remaining in mutual funds which can be converted in cash at a days notice) and had indicated that I will carry 7000 cad with me. My stay was going to be at my brothers house throughout the 2 weeks so no accommodation expenses on me. Since my main purpose of visit was to spend time with brother, i had kept the outdoors to only visiting niagara fall, toronto downtown and mississauga downtown. 3 Day trips only. Had attached all bank statements etc as evidence
In fixed assets, I had shown my three properties over cad 225k
Surprised at the refusal. Any suggestions/insights. Have already applied for gcms notes. Can i apply for reconsideration

Your adult sibling doesn’t create a tie. Did you include proof of home ownership? Do you have to return to collect your pension? An oath of commitment to return means nothing.

Have to give biometrics for pension every 6 months otherwise pension would be discontinued. So that is one big reason to return
