Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. After careful review of your temporary resident visa visa application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

Pls how do i reapply?

I applied to attend an IATA training course in Montreal, Canada for 5days. I'm from Cameroon, Africa. My brother is resident in Hong kong with his wife and 3 kids. I once visited them for 3 weeks. I deposited my diploma in travel and tourism from IATA in 2013, my employment letter as manager of a travel agency, birth certificates of my 2 daughters, marriage certificate, my wife's employment letter(government secondary school teacher),her payslips and bank statement because we married with jointed properties and monogamy, my payslips, bank statement worth 30thousand CAN$.

Aren't similar IATA courses available in your country or in a neighboring country?

Quite honestly, it does seem like a very weak purpose to visit Canada

Thank you for your frank reply. But unfortunately there aren't similar courses in my continent. This course is only available in Switzerland, Singapore, Miami and Montreal. Montreal is the headquarters of IATA so i thought it wise to go to the head office for training.

Secondly i have a couple of Canadian friends who have worked in my community before on developmental projects and i will like to visit them. I have a copy of their passports and addresses to prove our friendship and their willingness to meet again after several years.

As you already have a Diploma from IATA + you work in travel/tourism, you don't have a strong purpose of visit. Not sure whether you or your employer has paid for your intended training program.

You don't have previous travel history of visiting visa-required countries such as the US, UK, Schengen, Australia, NZ, etc for similar purposes.

IMO, your best bet is to visit Singapore for the same training program. It's unlikely that you would be granted a Swiss Schengen nor a US visa. You can certainly try again for a Canada TRV if you wish.

Visiting friends is not usually considered as a reason to visit
