VISA REFUSAL

Hi,

I just got my Visa refusal yesterday within five days of applying. Reason: Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, studies, employment, level of establishment, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.

I got accepted into the Corporate Communications (graduate certificate) program at Seneca College for the Jan 2014 intake.
IELTS: 8
Backgroud: B.Com (2011)
ANIIT
Creative Writing certificate (XIC)
Work experience: Editorial Associate (9 months)

To get accepted into the program I had to fulfill certain conditions: Preliminary test conducted by proctor. SOP. Fulfilled both.

I applied under SPP and submitted my file to the high commission with all the relevant documents including SOP.
I have a strong penchant for writing and have good communication skills. If I had a way to prove this to the officer, I'm sure I'd nail it.

So, should I re-apply for the Jan intake under general category?
All the formalities and preparation are already done, down to the last detail, right from packing to paying deposit for the accommodation.

Some guidance will be very helpful. Please.

If u wanna join in jan intak, re-apply ASAP under general category!!
I would say!! Apply tmrw itslf!!!

Make a strong SOP to support ur studies n try to xplain dT u hav no intentions to stay der aftr studies n bla bla.........

I think the course you have chosen is a very niche career choice offering very few employment prospects. That may have been the reason for refusal. I think this program is more suited to someone from an arts background especially BA(english). If you are not very keen on applying too soon( for jan intake), I suggest you order caips notes and then make an informed decision of reapplying for subsequent intake of may or september. I will suggest to choose a course related to bcom like accountancy, marketing, finance., etc and when you reach canada, you are free to change to the course of your choice.

I have applied under general category wht are the chances of me getting visa???

Grad certificate is same as 1 year PG diploma. Isn't it?

I too have the same question. Technically though, graduate certificate is a level lower than PG Diploma, that is the credential given by all Ontario college for all of their PG courses, if I am right. Clarification is appreciated.

Yes, you are right.
Masters>pg diploma> certificate
My program is a post graduation diploma and their is a same program for certificate also except two major subject graduation project and applied research.
For certificate 12 subjects in a year for pgd 14 subjects plus labs in both.
So, ya there is a difference between these two.

actually passport dispacted tomorow only so dont know reason til now...i am vry confused agar fr se reject ho gya..
