My mother is a canadian immigrant and petition us to live in canada. Last year july 2008 we got a visa except my brother because he stop schooling in just one semester. We arrived in canada august 2008 to be with my mother for such a long years that were not together and then last april 2009 we found out that my mother have a cancer stage 4. The last request of my mother to be with my brother even just a few days so my brother applied for a vistors visa with the complete documents that my mother have a cancer. but takes so long before the feedback from the embassy and my mother died this sept.17,2009. I spoke to the one of the immigration officer here in canada to send a request to the embhassy in philippines for the VISIT visa of my brother to see my mother for the last time even in her casket.
After a couple of days embhassy called my brother for an interview last sept.22,2009 but unfortunately got refusal again. The whole family was more sadden for that refusal as they denied him the last time to see our mother even in her casket just to attend the funeral service for a couple of days.
The consul even added an insult by saying " YOUR SIBLINGS ALREADY IN CANADA" implying that his no longer needed to be with his mother...a very harsh comment for a grieving son.
I really hope that the canadian embhassy in philippines they will be more considerate in such kind of situation as this is a really so sad family situation but then we cant help out feel so very dissapointed more in the refusal of embhassy in the philippines.
