Im from the Uk and visited Canada in October 2011 for three weeks. i now want to return to canada for a period of six months beginning at the end of february. i know that visitor visas normally last for a period of six months, so im wondering if i will re-enter canada on the visa i got in october, and will therefore have to reapply only a few weeks after i get there, or if they will just issue me with a new visa upon arrival despite the fact that my previous visa will still be valid. this would obviously be prefereable seeing as i only stayed for three weeks on my previous trip and this time intend to stay for the full six month period, but i have no idea what the policy is on this. any help much appreciated.
also, i am considering applying for a working holiday visa whilst im in canada, is this possible to do from within canada or do i need to leave the country? one of my concerns is that i received a police caution three years ago that i am worried will show up on my police certificate, does anybody know if this makes me inadmissable to canada on a working holiday visa? im also concerned that if i submit my working holiday visa application then this caution will affect my chances of returning to canada on a visitor visa. its not a police conviction so i've never needed to claim it on the visitor visa landing card, but im worried that if i make immigration aware of it they will no longer issue me with a visitor visa. . . . .
