Hello,

My father in law is here from Pakistan on a visit visa of 6 months. He arrived in May. One of his cousins who lives in USA wants my father in law to visit him in California. Question is... will my father in law even get a USA visit visa if he applies from here in Toronto?

If it is possible, i am assuming chances are really slim as he probably doesn't all the documentation that USA embassy would require to assess his application?

Best regards,

He can try to apply. Unfortunately I don't know a lot about US visa application procedures so can't comment on likelihood.

I do know that US visa applications rely heavily on the interview.

Most of the time, they don't ask for documents. It's just an interview most of the time, as mentioned above.

It's usually harder to apply for a visa where the applicant only has visitor/tourist status--it is much weaker than a worker or permanent status. But I have heard of a few cases where a US visa is granted from within Canada on a TRV/visitor status.

Also check for the appointment times for the Toronto consulate. It can take 1-2 months.
