I've applied for multiple study permit extensions and something happened with this one that's not occurred before. Basically my former permit expired July 31st, I sent in my extension application July 25 (I'm disorganised but this is nothing unusual), then waited until October 10th when it was approved. It arrived in the post yesterday.
I was studying and working part time under the impression that I could under implied status - which is what happened before. However, the visa I received said it is in force only from October 11th, when my Fall semester started Sept 07th - as stated in the letter from my uni which I sent with my application. Before this all my study permits have been backdated to the date that the semester began, even when they were approved after that date.
Now I'm concerned that I didn't have implied status for this semester after all.
If someone could shed some light on the situation before the CIC office opens Monday that would be very helpful.
