Hi All,

I'm having a special situation. I have been living in Montreal for the last 3 years and in Oct I submitted my PR application.

In my letter of intention,

-> I have mentioned that I have bought a lease in Ontario region to prove my intent. However, The address in the PR application is the one that I have in Montreal. I intend to move to Ontario address once I have received my PR.

Now, my wife was about to come to Montreal in March this year but due to COVID she couldn't travel and her work permit expired along with me in June 2020. Since she was not in Canada, I had to apply for an extension for only my work permit.

Since we have applied for PR already and my application has it in the record that I have taken lease in Ontario,
if
1) I apply for my wife's work permit - a question can be raised why I'm applying for an open work permit in Montreal if I have the intention to move to Ontario
2) I apply for my wife's visitor visa - a question can be raised why she is raising a visitor visa since she already had an open work permit prior to its expiry

I and my wife are not together for 1 and a half years, we would like to be together until we receive our PR. Could there be a way using which we can be together?

Thank you,
Kosma

You can apply for Visitor Visa while the PR application is in process. It will be considered under Dual Intent, however you will have to satisfy all the conditions of the visitor visa.
