Hello there !!

I am to receive my PR card in another month and I would like my parents to travel with me to Canada to help my family settle down.

I live in the US and my parents live in India. The plan is to have my parents join us in the US and all of us enter Canada together.

I have a few questions around this and I'd appreciate if you all can pour your suggestions/experiences

Thanks !!

a. I understand I am not eligible to apply for super visa since I don't have the 3 year Tax history. So which category of Visa should I be applying for?

b. Which makes more sense - apply for the visa from India or apply for the visa after they land in the US?

c. Are there any other things to be considered?

a. No - you do not need 3 years of tax history to apply for a super visa. However you do need to be living and working in Canada. At this time, they only qualify for a regular visitor visa.

b. Higher chances of approval if they apply from their home country.

c. It would be better to wait until you have been living in Canada for a few months before your parents apply to visit. Higher chances of approval.

Are your parents "landing" in US as US residents and getting green cards? If so, applying after they get their US residency may help.

If they are just traveling to US as a visitor, then applying in US doesn't help. It's better for them to apply from their home country and show strong tie to home. (not to US, not to Canada)
