Hi,

I am a Canadian PR but living in a different country now (completed landing procedures 2 yrs ago and collected identification card). my kids (born for my first wife & I am a widower) also do hold Canadian PR. The question is, now I am going to get married in few months time and planning to bring my wife and kids with me to Canada.

- can I bring my wife in a TRV first and apply for sponsorship PR while residing in Canada (currently I am in Singapore)
- How long does it take to seek a TRV
- any other ways to expedite the process

thanks in advace :)

1. You can apply for a TRV, but there is a very good chance that it won't be issued as her intention is to remain in Canada permanently rather than visit.
2. See the processing times here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp
3. No, it won't be expedited, if the TRV is refused, as a PR you will have to return to Canada and sponsor her.
