Visa Extension Under 30days left till expiry

My fiancé is applying to extend his visitor visa to stay in Canada (Currently has American Green Card and UK Citizenship). The forms/payments will be in electronically tomorrow but his 6 months from his last visit expires in 6 days. Will this ruin his chances of getting an approval, will he still get implied statues till we hear back?

The 30 days is just a guideline. As long as the application reaches CIC before his current status expires - he's fine.

I sent my extention request on the 16th of Feb, how do you know if your appication has been recieved?
And how is implied status given?
