Visa category and required documents for a independent contractor attending a training session.

I have started working as an independent contractor for a Canadian company. Now, they want to invite me for a training session. What will be the purpose of the visa? Business? or Visit(tourist)? If I select Business as the purpose of the visit for the eligibility test it doesn't list bank statement as a required document? Do I still need to submit a bank statement? Or in short, what are the required documents for this purpose?
