If you want to extend your permit your employer will have to get you a new LMO. The job will have to be re-advertised and the applicant selection procedure revisited.

Plus given that wait times for TWP extensions are taking up to three months this needs to be started immediately.

The irony is that if you had applied for the PNP and got it, you don't need to have the LMO to extend your permit.

If the PNP application is sent in and a copy sent into CIC before your current work visa expires, you will be on 'implied intent' during the process until the PNP is approved.

'Implied Intent" means you are still able to work under the same conditions of your current visa.

Are you sure about this? It's dangerous advice to give if you are wrong.

I Know of "Implied status", which you have if your application for a TWP extension, submitted before the existing WP expires, is not processed before the permit expires. You can continue to work while the decision is in progress.

However, as far as I am aware having a PNP nomination application in process does not give you implied status, you still need to have a current work permit in order to work legally.

yes you're correct even you are nominated by the province you need to apply for a WP!
the nomination certificate is only a supporting documents for the application of WP extension so you dont need LMO if you applying for extension all you need to do is attached the photo copy of confirmation letter and certificate of nomination in your WP application
