I would like to ask for some help please.

I am a Chinese resident; I'm applying to universities in Canada for Master Degree. I'm applying through a Chinese agency. The agent told me after I finish my Master Degree in Canada I can apply for Permanent Resident Visa and I will get it without any difficulties.

This sounds a bit undeliverable for my. I would like to ask information about how can I qualify myself to get the Permanent Resident Visa after the Master Degree.

Thank you

No - this isn't true. In some cases you may qualify to appy for PR after finishing your Masters. But there's certainly no guarantee you will qualify and/or will be approved.

Most international students qualify for PR by completing their studies and then finishing one full year of skilled work experience. This qualifies them to apply for PR under the Canadian Experience Class program.

Some provinces allow you to apply for PR after finishing your masters. See the link below for information about the Ontario program. Note that this program has a cap on applications and is a pilot program only. So even if you qualify, there's no guarantee you will be approved.

I believe there are other provinces that offer similar programs. You can research them here:

Thank you so much for the detailed answer.
I will check the links carefully.

You know this is the problem with the agencies in China, sometiemes applicants are misled in order to get more money from them...thank you for clearing this up.

All the best
