Hello I'd like some advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation as I have. I'm a victim of a marriage of convenience. My married my husband and sponsored him , application got approved in April 2019. Just couple weeks of him getting landed he became verbally and emotionally abusive, I caught him cheating and he basically told me " so what, I either stay with him or leave". I was told by people previously that he was cheating but had no proof of that , when I confronted him about what I was told he basically told me I'm crazy and should not listen to people, this was obviously previous to him getting his PR. So fast forward 2 months after he landed he went to his home country, whilst on that trip he was posting on social media pictures and certain comments from a certain woman caught my eye so I went on her profile and this man has been in a relationship with this woman the entire time, I even saw a post where he proposed to her before coming to Canada and comments he made on her pic during our relationship telling her how much her loves her and she should hurry up come so they can be together.. when confronted him about it he basically said to me "so what"? and that man have multiple women all the time. I know damn well he would never spoken to me like this before he got his PR since then he's been posting pictures of this woman all over social media confessing his love to her and thanking her for waiting for him. He's obviously a manipulator and user. I've presented this to immigration. Is this enough proof to convince immigration that he was just using me to get his status??

How long ago did you get married?

Has he been living with you since he landed in April 2019?

It's hard to say what IRCC will do. This may not be enough evidence to revoke his PR status and they may simply determine this is a relationship that hasn't worked out.

Hello, we married in 2017 sent application in January 2018. He moved out right after his trip to his home. months after landing. So basically they won't do anything even though I have proof he's been engaged to another woman prior to me sponsoring him? And he clearly left right after I confronted him about it?

It's honestly hard to say. Sometimes they take action and sometimes they feel there isn't enough evidence. If they do take action, it will take many months and your husband will be provided with the opportunity to defend himself and prove the relationship was in fact genuine. Again, really hard to say. Best advice is to move on with your life and try to forget about him.

Everyone says the same thing move on.... which I have begun to do, but anyone who's been through this knows it's a traumatic experience especially if one has sacrificed so much time effort and money into someone else.. being I'm a single mom in the country with no immediate family, makes it harder

All you can do is gather the evidence and submit it to CBSA. Good lesson for others if people are telling you he is cheating delay the sponsorship.

Unfortunately once a spouse lands it is very hard for them to lose their PR. That is why people need to really listen to signs before their spouse lands when you can still easily do something.
