Hi,

I am post graduate work permit holder and working in SK. My work permit is expiring on next month (30 July 2014), due to change in sinp rules and later on ban on food industry lmo (as i am working in hotel/restaurant) i am unable to apply for neither sinp nor lmo (work permit extension).

But i want to stay in Canada till December 2014 ( 5 more months) as my gf is planning to come in Canada as a student & even if she is not coming i want to spend some time with my friends and visit around Toronto for few months. so, i want to apply fot TRV temporary extension of visa as a visitor before 30 days of my current visa expiry.

My questions are:

1) what reason should i give to CIC for an extension?

2) how much fund should be enough for 5 months extension to show in application?

3)what are the chances of getting visa?

PLEASE HELP ME URGENT AS ONLY FEW DAYS LEFT BEFORE I CAN APPLY.. :( :(

THANK YOU ALL.

I will appreciate if you guys give me your valuable suggestions.
thnks.
First of all please stop using red and saying it is urgent when there are more than 6 weeks to apply.

Urgent means you got less than 48 hours.

First of all you are not asking for an extension of visa, you are asking to "extend your stay as a visitor". http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/extend-stay.asp . This is a common request and rather simple.

1) The reason you stated, you want to enjoy Canada before you leave. I wouldn't mention your gf stuff, it is not needed. The petition is reasonable, you lived here, you made friends and acquaintances and you want to enjoy them a little more before heading home. Totally acceptable.

2) Depends on what you plan to do. Do a budget beforehand and put all money you will be needing. Calculate for trips, hotels, meals if you are going off the city. Plan for dinners and "enjoy" your friends. Etc. after all that you should come up with a number, add a 20%-30% cushion to that budget. Overall make sense, if you are planning to go to Victoria for a week living in Toronto then don't show 1000 CAN, a trip like that will ask for at least 2000 CAN. Got it?

3) High as long as you make sense. Ask yourself "Is what I am asking for realistic?".

It is not about the color, it is about drawing attention and all the drama in a simple request. We answer in a frequency of less than 2 hours, so no need to do everything you did.

Thank you for your explaining reply and yes i got your point, i was just nervous as time is coming nearer and all are telling me different things.

As far as budget is concern i understood what you mentioned, i have my realistic budget in my mind for 5 months, but do i need to mention my travel plans to CIC? Honestly i dont have any experience & knowledge in dealing with immigration. What kind of explanatory letter should i write for a reason of an extension of my stay?

thanks again!!!

You had a SP, then a PGWP and you have no experience with immigration?

There are many samples of invitation letters, look around in the forum.

Its like i got that from others help so, anyways i will look around for the sample letters. I just have very last question in my mind, as i read that at few places..

Do i need to show return ticket (of expected leaving date) in the extension application? Does that hike the chances of getting extension?

Thank you.

hello, my friend, I applied the TRV in Cpp-ottawa, and sent my pp to them on 2nd June, my application was closed on 10th June, and I have provided the prepaid xpresspost envelope. When should I expect them send my pp back? Thank you in advance!

Whenever CPP sends it add three days. Keep a close look on the tracking numbers.
