Very Urgent! Help!

The situation is a little bit complicated, I'm using work permit rite now and last day on my permit is Dec 31st 2010. and I has been rejected by CIC for renewing my work permit!
The thing is I'm applying Canadian experience class immigration and already got my file #
My wife is Canadian Permenant resident. Now I want to transfer to visitor
Is that possible? Should I apply the visitor visa or let my wife to appy it for me?

What was the reason for the refusal? You can apply to extend/change status but you have to make sure that CPC receives it on or before Dec 31, 2010, else you would have to apply for restoration/change status if application is not received by CPC on or before that date. A bit tight on the schedule. Has your wife filed a spousal sponsorship in your behalf?
