Verification of Lmo and employer details ...

Hi All,

i Have applied for work in Canada through the representative here in India. as i already got offer letter now i am waiting for the lmo to get approved .i am wondering is there any way to verify the lmo and the employer details my representative given me like bushiness no and some other numbers.and do we have to show ties to our home country like assets and property nd bank balance and affidavit while applyin for lmo and work permit. Are there any people on here Who applied through the representative .

It’s hard for you as the worker to verify that the LMO and job offer are genuine if you haven’t met the employer yourself. You can try looking them up on Google and see if they have a website that matches up (same phone number, same address, same company owner) with the information provided on the LMO.

I think you mentioned in one of your previous posts that your representative is charging you for the LMO. If so, you should be aware that right now, Service Canada issues LMOs completely free of charge. In the near future, employers will have to pay but they will not be allowed to pass the fee down to the worker.

The employer has to satisfy Service Canada that he/she couldn’t find any qualified Canadians in order to get a positive LMO. It has nothing to do with you, the worker.

But to get a work permit, you have to satisfy CIC/CBSA that you are qualified for the job (your education and work history must show why you’re a suitable candidate) and that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay (if you show that you currently have strong ties to your country, that will help).
