I have a query - what if at the time of applying for Canadian PR, under express entry, I had a valid offer (for more than a year, skilled employment etc), but when I received invite to apply, I resigned from job/ did not resume job. Do I still earn/retain the 50 points awarded? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

No. As you wouldn't have a job offer for "a year after receiving PR" you should not be claiming those points anymore.
