I understand that the validity of the immigration visa at the PPR stage is the earlier of the
1. expiry of medical (i.e. one year from date medical taken) or
2. expiry of passport
I have no issue with the passport expiry.
However, since I took upfront medical examination at time of application and since CIC is taking about six months to reach PPR stage, it means that the immigration visa be valid for a maximum of six months from PPR date.
Is it possible to re-take the medical examination just before PPR stage so that immigration visa is valid for a full year from PPR stage?
