Hi All!
I finally got ITA of express entry before my visitor record expiring in a few days (so close!!! :-X :-X :-X)
I am planning to extend my visitor record to stay in Canada and apply of PR; in the mean time, I also want to stay longer since my aunt is not feeling well (My aunt doesn't have a family nor kids, and we are very close. She is a citizen). What should I put as the reason for my extension?
I was going to say that I got an ITA and I am planning to stay here to prepare my documents to apply for PR (Employment letter, record check etc.) and wait for the result (I am thinking to apply for 8 months at first indicated that I need 2 months to prepare my docs and 6 months wait time for the PR decision to come, now I am thinking to ask for a 6-month extension on the safe side), but I was told that we should not mention anything about your interest of living in Canada permanently, even if you got invited. Now I am thinking about saying my aunt is very ill (reason and details provide to them). Which one should I go with?
A little background: My PGWP expired last year and I changed my status as visitor and obtained visitor record. Then I extended my visitor record once and they let my stay for half a year more (exactly what I asked for). That's my most recent VR and it is expiring in a week. I was planning to go back to my home country but I got an ITA on March 1 (SUPER EXCITING!!!!)
Please help. Thank you very much!
