Hi Everyone,

I'm about to submit my EE application this week, I do have the last concern in regard to Job Offer and my contract working experience.

I'd assume Valid Job-offer refers to LIMA, correct ?

Another thing is I started as 6-month full time (37.5h/week) contract, and then moved onto permanent position after 6 month. I have one year of Canadian Experience.

My question: Does full time contract position count as valid Canadian Experience or my offer has to specified that my job's permanent? (Work permit needed, no Lima required, open work permit )

Thanks in advance!

Those 6 months do count towards your Canadian work experience.

And no, you do not have a valid job offer as you're working on an open work permit.

Hi DelPiero07, could you expand on some information? Thank you for your previous answer.

I too am on an open work permit and have two years of work experience under "Work permit needed, no Lima required".
I am about to start work at a company that I have previously worked at for thirteen months; I believe they are interested in supporting me for PR.

Q1:In order for their offer to support me in PR, it would require an LMIA, correct?
Q2:It would also have to be over a year in length, would a permanent position count as over one year?

Sorry to hijack this thread, I felt it best to post here rather than start a new thread with an identical name and topic.

1 - Correct, the only way for you to have a valid job offer in this case is to have LMIA.

2 - The exact requirement is "for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/offer.asp - IMO the word permanent suffices though.
