Hi there!

I'm an IEC participant, currently in Portugal. I'm enrolled in a Working Holiday Visa and already have a Port of Entry letter but due to the pandemic situation I couldn't come to Canada before all this.
Due to COVID a new measure to IEC participants was activated, as follows:

Effective May 8, 2020, the IEC Program is limiting entry into Canada to only those IEC participants who have both
  • a valid port of entry letter of introduction, and
  • a valid job offer, which includes recent confirmation from your employer that they continue to operate and are willing to employ you.
This applies to all 3 IEC categories: Working Holiday, Young Professionals, and International Co-op (Internship). These temporary measures will remain in place until further notice.

Thus, I would like to know if someone could clarify me about what constitutes a valid job offer for this situation mentioned above. Could it be the same as for an Express Entry participant?

Thanks in advance,
André Serafim

Hi André, did you manage to get an answer regarding this topic? I'm from PT as well and for me it is also unclear, as it also states the following:

There are 3 different kinds of work and travel experiences available:
Working Holiday
This category is for you if:
  • you don’t have a job offer (due to current travel restrictions, a valid job offer is required if you’re not fully vaccinated)
  • you want to work for more than one employer in Canada
  • you want to work in more than one location
  • you’d like to earn some money so that you can travel

KR,

André
