Hi again;
My family is going abroad for summer vacation (5 weeks) and I am going to join them for 2.5 weeks. We are waiting for DM and oath. Should I notify CIC now that we'll be out of the country or wait and see as the time gets closer? Does anyone have any idea how much lead time they give between the time they send you the oath letter and the actual oath date?
Thanks!

One time, I saw as little as five days notice. General they give more notice than that, but you never know in any individual case until it happens.

Thanks! I am not sure what to do. I guess I'll wait till our vacation time comes closer and if I haven't heard anything by then, I'll call again and tell them that we'll be traveling so they don't schedule our oath or send letters while we're out of the country.

you can write to CIC that you will be out of Canada for vacation before leaving. Call CIC and they will give you instructions.
It only means that if they wanted you to test/oath during that period that you are away, you would be unavailable and will have to wait for the next round.
Doesn't affect your application as long as you are okay with getting your Citizenship a few months later potentially.
