I am from USA and my visitor visa for canada approved . How much I have to pay VAC fee. I didnt fine any where . In which format I have to pay . Bank draft (whose name) or cashier check (what name)

Did you apply online or paper?
If you applied online, you can send your passport to NY consulate...No fees

What does the passport request letter contain under "where to send your passport"?

If there is a link to cic.gc.ca/submit then most likely you need to send your passport to VAC NY or VAC LA.

If visiting the VAC by person, you can pay by credit card.

If mailing, the fee is USD 34.10 (money order) per passport/applicant.

Assuming you are mailing your passport to VAC NY, follow these steps (if mailing to VAC LA instead, see the correct address here http://bit.ly/1op86y6 & here http://bit.ly/1z8kt7s):

Mail the original money order (for USD 34.10) to following address: (although not required, you may also attach the passport request letter / e-mail (w/ the application number) you received along with the payment so they can relate the M.O. to the right application):

Philadelphia, PA 19178-3352

Mail the original passports, passport request letter/e-mail, signed VAC consent form, copy of money order, prepaid return envelope to:

Canadian Visa Application Centre – New York
290 Madison Ave, 2nd Floor

You can download the VAC consent form from http://bit.ly/1iYmgqL.

I used 3 USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate envelopes for the above but you can use any shipper you like. VAC doesn't care what shipper you use. But do use some kind of tracking both ways.

It should take about 10 business days to get the passports stamped and returned to you in the prepaid envelope.

I applied online and got this passport request yesterday. And it seems I have to go trough the Visa Application Center(VAC) in NY, which has re-opened, for an extra fee of $34.10.
I saw you mentioned that one could sent passport directly to Canadian Consulate in NY with no fees. I wonder if you could tell me more about it? I did not find the related information on their website and am kinda confused.

I think the address on CSC VAC website is the correct one, please call (646) 741- 0130 (option 2 for LA) and confirm before mailing them anything. Also, the P.O. box address for mailing the payment (money order) will be different from NY.

Anybody can tell me why we need to send the passport to VAC NY and pay 34.10 usd so that VAC can "securely transfer" the passport to the Consulate General NY? The two places are just 0.8 miles from each other and we are paying an outrageous amount? Is it a way for them to make money?

I applied for tourist visa in September 2013, and remember that I sent the passport directly to the Consulate General at 1251 Avenue of the Americans. But know it appears that I will have to send the passport to VAC.

I am totally confused with this new procedure.
