VAC Cairo Covid-19

So I received a passport request letter on 11 March to send my passport to the VAC in Cairo.
by then the VAC had stopped receiving passports due to covid.

now they say that the embassy told them to only receive passports from people who got the letter after 15 April. And for others to log on Canada.ca for instructions.
I logged into the CIC there is nothing specific.
Any advice what I should do?

I have sent an email when they told me not to send the passport to inform the embassy that I can’t send the passport within 30 days and they replied that it was ok. So Ishould not be denied I just don’t know what to do now?

ok I sent an email to cairo immigration office in Canadian embassy in cairo and the visa section in canaddian embassy in cairo. I also filled a web form with the same message. any ideas on anything else I can do? should I have my wife call the embassy in Cairo?
