V-1 Vistors visa enquires

Dear Sir,
I was issued a six months single entry visa to canada V-1 from Ghana in July 2014.

The visa will expiry in January 2015.

My problem I applied for the visa for a conference in Alberta in September 2014.(I could not use the visa due to family issues)

I will want to find out if I could still use the visa for another purpose in Canada for another purpose,while the visa is valid.

It should be fine to use for another purpose, but it will be up to the officer to determine whether you can enter or not. What you plan to do now instead? Make sure you have enough money, return ticket, etc to satisfy the officer.
