My sister is an applicant in the FSW category from India and I am a Canadian citizen and resident. Can she use a bank draft issued by a Canadian bank in her name as proof of funds for the New Delhi CHC? Will a notarised copy of the bank draft be sufficient proof of funds? Later, she plans to carry the same bank draft to Canada on landing as proof of funds

Hi, The money should be in her A/C in shape of savings or fixed deposit. The demand draft in her name can put a doubt as far as their policy of borrowing the money is concerned. Their relevant policy strictly prohibits borrowing the money. so my advice is ask her to put it into her bank A/C and keep it there till the process is completed.

If you are lending her money, then it is not allowed. Money should belong to her and now a days Visa Offices worldwide even ask for source of funds.

Even otherwise, she need to show money in her savings account or fixed deposit. No bank drafts at this stage. However when she lands here in Canada she need to carry bank draft/ traveller cheque as POF.
