USA h1b need IELTS for FSW ?

Hello All,

I am working as an mechanical engineer in USA on H1B from 1 year, i want to apply for PR CANADA under FSW criteria. Does i need to take IELTS exam ?

I have masters degree in mechanical engineering from USA and 2 years of work experience in USA (1 year on OPT + 1 year on H1B),still do i need to take IELTS exam ?

Yes, does not matter even if you were born in any English speaking country or even have a PHd in English....you need to give IELTS

Again, IELTS is MANDATORY for all applicants. It doesn't matter who you are, where you are from, or what work experience / education you have.

If you fail to include IELTS with your original application - your application will be automatically refused.

If i am running out of point to reach 67 target, can i use this category in adaptibility : Spouse is proficient in an official language 5 points ?

If you want adaptability points for your spouse's language abilities - then your spouse will have to take the IELTS test as well.

I'm a native speaker with a doctorate degree; I used to be a writer and editor of English publications. I had to take IELTS. Everyone must take it.
