My wife is currently waiting for FBI to send her background check for 2 months now. We believe we should be waiting for fingerprints to arrive, then get medicals, then mail entire complete package. Is this process sound correct?

Furthermore is there some way we can obtain a work permit for her once we've initiated the process?

Any advice will be helpful we are young couple and a little overwhelmed by it all.

For people applying outland (and as an American, there is absolutely no reason to apply inland), there is no work permit. She can try to find an employer willing and able to get an LMIA, or if she qualifies, she could get one through NAFTA.

Your order is correct. Get the medicals once you have the FBI check, then send the whole thing off to Mississauga.
