Hi,

Is it okay to give CIC a copy of the electronic Identity History Summary the FBI sends or should we wait for the hard copy in the mail? The page on US checks says that we can get an electronic copy by email, but at the same time at the bottom of the page it says all PCCs must be originals.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/united-states.html

This is a bit confusing. Does this mean electronic documents can be "originals" too so long as they're not photocopies of existing hard copies?

Thanks

You can upload the electronic copy. Its the same as hard copy sent by FBI.

I should have specified: we're applying for spousal PR which is a paper submission. I know we'll get an AOR down the road and perhaps can upload documents then, but from what I understand we have to send the PCCs in with the paper application. In that case is it okay to send a printed version of the electronic document, or should we just send in the paper application without sending in the PCC and upload it after getting AOR?

Thanks
