COPR went to the US and not to me. I know I set my address as where it should go because mail is always stolen where my husband lives in the US. In the end his old roommate is forwarding it to us but through regular mail it will take a while. Anyone know how long COPRs are good for typically? We it has been over a month since it was issued.

From reading other posts on this forum, it would appear that they're good for one year following the issuing date.

COPR is good for one year from when the medical exam was taken. Medicals are often extended, but that depends on how tight the timing is - I believe I would have been part of a group of people that got decision made on November 26, but my medicals expired on November 27 and I was asked to do another medical. They're now done and were submitted to CIC this past Wednesday and now I'm waiting again...

I got my COPR on November 23 and it was only good until January 20 or so (around one year from my medical exam). Hopefully yours is still good.

Hi fellow US Applicants and congratulations on the recent DMs! I am a "June 10 received" and it seems they are getting close to my time-frame based on the Spreadsheet. I am so glad to have found this forum. Can someone assist me to get my data on to the spreadsheet? It says it doesn't allow editing even when I am logged into the forum.

My ecas data:
1. We received Mary's application for PR on June 10, 2015.
2. We started processing Mary's application on Aug. 7, 2015.
3. Medical results have been received.

FBI and fees all up front. And I DID NOT receive the batch letter the 4th week of November 2015.

I wish everyone a happy holiday and that you are with your family during this season.

MME

Nope, not at all. We still met all the requirements of common law sponsorship and informed them of the change as soon as we received our marriage certificate. The same forms are required for marriage and CL, so there was no document request or anything beyond me volunteering a scan of the marriage cert and wedding photos immediately.

The COPR reflected this information and indicated "married" rather than "common law" on the marital status line.

I was wondering, if my husband gets the conditional PR (we've only been married 1 year), will he be able to make a quick landing, and then return back to the USA for a month or so? He has to finish up work and he's actually putting in a transfer which takes a few weeks. Should that be ok or will that be an issue? I know with conditional PR he has to live with me for two years as of the date he arrives, so that's why I ask. I think someone asked a similar question awhile back, but I haven't seen s response.

Hello. Just joined. Am a US Citizen married to a Canadian Citizen for 9 years with 3 kids. Currently and have always live in the US. Our Outland Spousal Application was just sent in a couple days ago.
We used an Immigration Lawyer out of Calgary so it should be thorough and have no "issues" to be concerned about. Planning on moving to Alberta where I have a job offer (which was sent with application)
Medical was done down here a month ago and sent with application. Sent in fingerprints and application to FBI 2 months ago.
Any guesstimates on how long this should take ???
Thanks and good luck/congrats to everyone else.

If all goes well about 6-10 months, on average. I have been waiting since early June, and should be getting A Decision made for my permanent residence. I am US citizen married to a Canadian bride, who is waiting for me in Nova Scotia. Been a long 15 months to be apart, soon though, I retire in February, and and moving to Nova Scotia. Be patient, sometimes its hard, but this takes time.
