I am currently in an F1 student VISA in US. I pursued my Master's in Electrical Engineering and have worked for 4 months in my initial OPT. I would like to continue my education in Canada, I have received an admit for Master's in Data Science from University of British Columbia. It is an accelerated program for just 10 months. I have paid the fees for the first and second term and have got a GIC for 10k CAD. I have the following question:

1. For finances I show my fathers savings account of Rs 5 Lakhs and Mother's FD of 20 Lakhs along with the first 2 term fee payment receipt and GIC of $10k CAD and my saving of $10k USD , will this suffice the financial requirement ? (I have a consolidated CA statement with the saving, FD and other properties in my parents name)

2. Will a Master's degree from Electrical Engineering to a Master's in Data Science tend to be an unnatural progressing in career ? I have worked in research projects where I started concentrating more on Data Science and I also did an Internship in India as a Data Analyst, apart from this I am currently working as an Electrical Engineer where I also work on data processing.

3. What is the best way to express my ties to home country ?? In my SOP I am talking more about how I am linking both my education and the job opportunities that are and will be available for people with both of these skill set in my home country in the future which I would like to grab. I do not have properties or siblings, My parent are residing in India though.

Thanks in advance. Any comments or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
