US Citizens looking to perm. or at least temp. move to Canada

My boyfriend and I have been looking into moving to Canada for a few years now. We both have experience working in natural resources and parks and recreation (federal, state, and volunteer work). I am wondering what is the easiest way for us to obtain work permits and/or the best option to get permanent residency?

I have been looking at Master's programs in Canada to get a student visa. Are there better options? Neither of us have relatives in Canada.

Coming to Canada on a work or student visa would be temporary. To move permanently, you would need to look into the various economic streams of permanent residence such as Canadian Experience Class, Provincial Nomination Program, or Express Entry.
